I know in the books there's a Frey army thereabouts, but I didn't notice anybody other than Fat Walda in the Winterfell scenes.

Good point about how non-combatants allied to the Freys and Boltons aren't likely to escape unscathed in a "general massacre." If Stannis wants to make Sansa his puppet Lady of Winterfell (and the Dreadort, if the male Boltons are killed), Fat Walda has got to die (or be force-fed moon tea). Myranda would probably be targeted as Ramsay's lover and accomplice.Matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04691270309993277160noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4000895280655907241.post-46999435063985300682015-06-08T23:01:14.722-04:002015-06-08T23:01:14.722-04:00I think Varys doesn't show up until Episode 2 ...I think Varys doesn't show up until Episode 2 next season, unless he makes a surprise appearance in Dorne but given the 5 big events that will obviously happen (plus a scene in Meereen w/the 3 amigos and maybe the release of V & R from their pit) in Episode 10 it probably won't given the finale is only 60 minutes

In your general massacre scenario I would add the faction of Stark loyalists in and around Winterfell. They might be old and/or unarmored commoners, but it would add to the chaotic scene and add to the body count any Frey or Bolton supporting noncombatant (i.e. Myranda).

Given we're getting into some Winds of Winter territory quiet possibly in six days, I'm getting excited to see what's going to happen. Through the previous 49 episodes, I sorta knew what was going to happen just because I've read the books. But this upcoming episode has the added element of the unknown.Matt Rieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01338552811241583947noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4000895280655907241.post-57846906093979276622015-06-08T21:04:27.329-04:002015-06-08T21:04:27.329-04:00Depending on whether someone opens the gates of Wi...Depending on whether someone opens the gates of Winterfell for Stannis (or Ramsay leaves the gate open in his haste to chase Theon and Sansa), we might have a general massacre where Roose and Ramsay die and then Brienne kills Stannis just when he's won.

(Then it comes down to a catfight between Sansa and Fat Walda for control of Winterfell and the Dreadfort, since with Stannis dead and with no heir, his army might well collapse.)

I agree that Danaerys and Drogon encountering what's-his-name's khalasar or Jon getting shanked at the Wall are more likely cliffhanger endings. Plus with Kevan returning to the capital, maybe Varys puts in an appearance?Matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04691270309993277160noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4000895280655907241.post-87551458610772999722015-06-08T20:48:17.584-04:002015-06-08T20:48:17.584-04:00I've haven't seen the quote or article in ...I've haven't seen the quote or article in question, but I've read second-hand that the actor playing Podric said something in Episode 10 will "break the internet".

Most likely it is hyperbole, but I would not be surprised in seeing a lot of major character in one scene in and around Winterfell. Theon & Sansa escape with help from Brienne & Podric then race away from WF, Ramsey gets some men and chases after them right into an on-rushing army led by Stannis...chaos ensues.

My nerd fanboy dream scenario is Ramsey suddenly being yanked off his horse and disemboweled by a black "shaggy" direwolf being ridden by a little kid just before the end credits. But in all honesty the season will end either with Dany & Drogon due to the episode title or certain situation up at Castle Black.Matt Rieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01338552811241583947noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4000895280655907241.post-85282387205609398662015-06-08T18:32:21.576-04:002015-06-08T18:32:21.576-04:00That is possible.
